Sworn translation German-Italian and Italian-German

Geburtsurkunde and Heiratsurkunde to be registered with a Comune, a Führungszeugnis for a job, Zeugnisse for university enrolment, and the other way round Italian degrees, payslips and certificates for Germany, Austria or Switzerland: sworn translation between German and Italian costs 25 € per page, VAT included, in both directions, with the signed and stamped PDF in 24 to 48 working hours.

From German into Italian

German-speaking countries mostly send the birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde), the marriage certificate (Heiratsurkunde), the criminal record (Führungszeugnis or Strafregisterauszug), the Meldebescheinigung, which matches the certificate of residence, and academic qualifications with their transcript.

Before ordering, check whether you really need a translation. For public documents from Germany and Austria, Regulation (EU) 2016/1191 removes the apostille and offers a multilingual standard form. Germany, Austria and Switzerland also issue the multilingual civil status extracts of the 1976 Vienna Convention, to which Italy is a party: many offices accept them without translation. If your office still wants a translation, or if the document does not fit these models, the basis remains article 33 of Presidential Decree 445/2000. A Swiss record normally needs an apostille.

From Italian into German

We translate from Italian into German the documents of people moving or working across the Alps: degree certificate and transcript for recognition of the qualification, contracts and payslips, bank statements, judgments and powers of attorney. The receiving authority decides which form it accepts: some ask for a sworn translator from their own country, others accept the sworn translation in PDF. Ask before you order. If an asseverazione before an Italian court is needed, we arrange it on quote.

Frequently asked questions

I have a multilingual extract: does it need translating?

Usually not, but the receiving office decides. Check before you order: we do not sell a translation you do not need.

How are German compound terms and academic titles handled?

The translator renders the content in Italian and normally keeps in the original, in brackets, names that have no exact equivalent, such as the titles of qualifications.

Who signs the translation?

Official translators sworn and certified at the Courts of Appeal: signature, stamp and statement of fidelity to the document received.

For qualifications, read the guide to enrolling at an Italian university with a foreign qualification; for records, the one on registering a foreign record. Other languages are on the sworn translation by language page. Choose your document and order.
