How it works
Everything happens remotely, starting from a scan. You do not need to post the original document, go to a court, or come to us.
The four steps
- Choose your document and the language pair. Each document has its own page, with the price and the language menu. The quantity to enter is the number of pages.
- Upload the scan. We need a readable scan or photo of the complete document: every page, the stamps, the handwritten notes and, if there is one, the apostille page. We check the document and confirm the pages, the total and the delivery date before we start.
- The translator translates and swears. An official sworn translator registered with a Court of Appeal translates the document, signs and stamps the translation and declares that it is faithful to the document received.
- You receive the PDF. The signed and stamped translation arrives by email within 24 to 48 working hours for a standard document. You can add the paper copy by post if the office asks for it on paper.
What you receive
- The full translation of the document, with the original layout kept and the stamps described.
- The translator's statement, with their details, signature and stamp.
- A PDF file with a digital signature recognised in the 27 EU countries, to print or attach to an online application, with no limit on copies.
Who swears, and where
Our translators are official sworn translators registered with the Courts of Appeal. The translation is sworn by the translator, who is answerable for its fidelity to the document received: this is the most common form for dealings with Comuni (town halls), Prefetture (provincial government offices), universities, consulates and employers.
They are official translators, recognised in their respective countries. For French, the translator is sworn at the Court of Appeal of Douai (France) and the Superior Court of Justice of Luxembourg, is listed in the national register of the FPS Justice in Belgium, is accredited with the Italian embassies and consulates in France, Belgium and Luxembourg, and is a member of the Associazione Esperti Tecnici Giudiziari in Milan: her translations are accepted in Italy, in both directions. The translations are valid, recognised and accepted by consulates, embassies, Comuni (municipalities) and chambers of commerce, valid for self-certifications (autocertificazioni) at notarial offices across the EU, and recognised by the Agenzia delle Entrate, notaries, lawyers and the courts.
Some procedures ask instead for an asseverazione before an Italian court, with a record of the oath and marche da bollo (revenue stamps): this happens mainly for Italian documents intended for use abroad, in court proceedings, or when the office states it explicitly. In that case we can arrange it on quote, in addition to the PDF translation.
Before you order, the advice is always the same: ask the receiving office what it accepts. The office is the one that decides, and one extra document costs less than starting a whole application again. The differences between the various forms are explained in the guide on sworn, asseverata, certified or legalised translation.
The city you live in changes nothing
The translation is done remotely and works the same way in Milan, Rome, Naples or outside Italy. There is nothing to collect in person: the PDF arrives by email and the paper copy, if you order one, arrives by post at the address you give us.
Confidentiality of your documents
Civil status records, criminal record certificates, company documents: these are confidential documents and we treat them as such.
- You upload your documents on the website, over an encrypted connection and to a private address: you do not need to send them by email.
- Our translators have signed a confidentiality charter and are bound by professional secrecy.
- Each document goes to one translator only, the one in charge of your file: we never email it to several translators, and only the people strictly necessary have access to it.
- We never use an online machine-translation service (DeepL or similar) on your documents.
- Files are stored on servers in the EU and deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Documents are never sold or passed on to third parties. Full details are in the privacy notice.
Turnaround
Standard delivery is within 24 to 48 working hours for a standard document. For a long file, we confirm the timing before we start. If you have a deadline coming up, write to us: we will tell you what is possible.
Documents and languages
We handle the documents most often asked for by Italian authorities, from the birth certificate to the criminal record certificate, from the driving licence to the degree certificate. The full list is in our services; if your document is not there, use the other document page. We also translate registry certificates (certificati anagrafici) and multilingual extracts, official declarations, company documents, court and legal documents, expert reports, inheritance documents and the atto notorio.
The languages open are Italian to and from English, Spanish, French, German, Romanian and Arabic, and these languages between themselves: every pair is on the sworn translation by language page. For any other language, ask us for a quote.
